This male pigeon was a gift from my friend Amo in Taiwan. Its mother placed 138th in the 2015 Spring Season Sea Race. In Taiwan, sea races are incredibly challenging competitions where 4-month-old pigeons are taken out to sea by boat and released to fly back home. The races are held every three days, covering distances from 120 to 350 kilometers. This photo was taken in June 2016, on the 25th day after hatching.
